2D Experiences is a studio-style course that introduces students to disciplines including acrylic painting, watercolor painting, printmaking, oil pastel drawing, chalk pastel drawing, ink drawing, graphite drawing, colored pencil drawing, charcoal drawing, and mixed media. This course explores the materials, techniques, processes, history, contemporary practices, and language of art. Students will develop individual direction with art projects as they learn about the Artistic Behaviors and apply them to their art making. This course places a strong emphasis on the creative process and inventive problem-solving. Students will enhance their critical thinking skills through critiques, class discussions, and reflection.
